Phrommachat

The Phrommachat is a book in Thai made around 1885, which illustrates the Chinese zodiac and explains how to find lucky and unlucky couples through the matchmaking method of the "entwined Naga". Now in the British Library and included in their online collection. Above, the entire Tiger page.

Detail.

Part of the rooster page. If this fellow is supposed to indicate the character of people born under this sign, I suggest you look elsewhere for a mate.

The Dragon.

I'm not sure what these beast riders are supposed to be, but the manuscript is full of them. What an odd little book.
