Ancient Etruscan Image of Birth

This may be the oldest known depiction of childbirth in western art. Dating to 600 BC, it is a fragment of an Etruscan ceramic vessel. It was found in a sanctuary at Poggio Colla that seems to be dedicated to a goddess, so that may be the goddess in the picture.
