Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Doña Elena, by Estudio Barozzi Veiga

This new Spanish concert hall has a rather striking form, but I wish it were someplace else. In this location it reminds me of the games I played as a child using plastic dinosaurs and trucks and the like, all of different scales. Instead of seeming like a big building, it looks like a small one in the wrong scale. The giant windows emphasize the effect, which I suppose must be intentional. More pictures here.
Another thing that bothers me is this big, bare, stone pavement; the last thing anybody needs in Spain is more exposure to the sun. Why not a shady arcade?
